The Madhibha eHub identified that the South African Youth is brimming with untapped potential. These Youth are grappling with an alarming youth unemployment rate and a profound skills deficit. The existing education and employment systems have inadequately equipped a substantial portion of the Youth and have rendered them unemployable. This has not only exacerbated economic disparities but also constrained their capacity to contribute meaningfully to society. Closing this chasm is no longer a matter of personal development but has evolved into a pressing strategic necessity for the nation’s social cohesion, growth and resilience.
The Madhibha eHub is an ecosystem which will grow the economic participation among households and communities that have been excluded from the South African economy. The Madhibha eHub looks to act as a bridge between the disenfranchised, more specifically the Youth, unemployed population (youth and others) and the 2nd economy, and linking them to the 1st economy, the economy and the government.
